Social Inclusion

Social inclusion means you have accessible ways to get involved in your community. This may mean you volunteer, you join a club or a group, you have an opportunity to be civically engaged, and/or there are people you regularly engage with.

Barriers

  • Lack of transportation
  • Expense of clubs, groups, events, or classes
  • Many activities are limited by the time of year
  • Too young or old
  • Lack of access to information about things offered

Community Vision

Diversity is the cornerstone of any healthy community. Strong neighbourhoods provide a place where people know and support each other, share resources and provide a strong social network.

There are many opportunities for close connection among all members of the community from the very young to the very elderly.1
