Housing

Housing health means having a home to start with. Your home is clean and dry; pest and mold-free; it is an appropriate size for the number of people in your family; has access to adequate clean potable water; light after dark, heat in the winter, and it is affordable.

Barriers

  • Lack of affordable housing for rent or purchase
  • Lack of housing stock
  • Many rentals offered are unsuitable and/or unsafe
  • Challenging to age in place
  • Unfounded rumours/reputation can affect housing opportunities
